Gov. Cooper announces students and educators will not return to school buildings for the remainder of this school year

Today, Governor Roy Cooper announced that public schools in North Carolina will remain closed for normal operations for the remainder of this school year. Weldon City Schools Child Nutrition - COVID-19 Meal Pick Up

Also, The Child Nutrition Department will resume nutritious meals for students under the age of 18 on Monday, April 27, 2020. School buses will no longer deliver meals. Meals will be available Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays by drive-thru pick up at Weldon Elementary Global Academy, Weldon STEM High School, Farm Bureau, and Weldon House Development. Mrs. Krissy Pittman-Martin, AIG Coordinator with Weldon City Schools hosted a ZOOM Ethel Crawley Scholarship Annoucement this morning. School Administrators and teachers participated in the virtual announcement. The Ethel W. Crawley Memorial Education Fund Scholarship directs a scholarship selection committee to award a full four-year scholarship that will cover tuition, room, board, school fees, and books.

Ms. Nautika Northington, the recipient, is a senior at Weldon STEM High School and the daughter of Kyman and Connie Northington.

Weldon City Schools Board of Education will meet on Thursday, May 21, 2020, beginning with a closed session at 5:30 p.m., followed by the 6:30 p.m. public meeting.
