Weldon City Schools is implementing Social Emotional Learning into our curriculum to cultivate healthy social and emotional skills. These areas of social-emotional competency will include Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Responsible Decision Making, Social Awareness, and Relationship Skills. Our first Social Emotional Competency is Responsible Decision-Making. In order to exhibit knowledge of this competency, scholars were asked to create a poster of notable Black History Figures who exemplified Responsible Decision-Making. We are pleased with the scholars' efforts and participation in this district-wide contest.

Pandemic P-EBT Program

The Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) program helps families purchase food for children whose access to free or reduced-priced meals at school has been impacted by COVID-19 because students are learning virtually, outside of brick-and-mortar schools. P-EBT is a collaboration between the NC Department of Health and Human Services and the NC Department of Public Instruction.
